technology and human touch

I have been thrown into technology whether I like it or not due to society and the advances of healthcare, modern world, etc. For the most part I do see many good and advantageous things from technology that benefit the patient as well as the healthworker. Equipment is better and faster, documentation is easier and more efficient, and learning is more creative and hopefully more active and in depth. My big concern still is about nursing and providing the human touch and caring that it needs and is know for. To often I see students that are very smart with nursing knowledge and wonderful GPAs, but they have to be pushed into the room of a patient to interact or give cares to. I hope n this age of technology we do not take the clinical time away for simuation as the students still need see and interact with patients face-to-face and provide that humn touch. cpiv
